When it comes to charging an internal battery, you have two options: charge on the bike, or remove and charge off the bike. This means you can quickly plug in and charge up wherever your bike is, or you can conveniently take the battery away to be charged whilst leaving the bike somewhere suitable.
The sleek, integrated down tube battery with 504 WH charges to 80% in just 2.5 hours with the EC-E8004, and retains more than 60% charge even after an amazing 1000 charges. So, whenever and however you choose to do it, there’s no need to worry about plugging in and topping up.
If you have an internal battery and wish to charge it on the bike, simply lift open the cap on the charging port and insert the charging plug. Then, connect the power plug to the electrical outlet whereby a light on the charger will indicate that the battery is charging.
You can also charge an internal battery off the bike. Taking the battery cover off may differ per bike, and then you have two ways of releasing the battery.
The first option is to use the key, turning it until you feel it make contact to release the battery. Alternatively, you can use a 4mm allen key and turn it a quarter turn to release the battery. Be sure to turn clockwise in both cases. Once the battery is released, push the clip on top of the battery to take it out completely.
Install the adapter (SM-BTE80) to the charging plug and insert the adapter to the battery's charging port, then connect the power plug to the electrical outlet. A light will show on the charger to indicate that the battery is charging.
Plugging in and charging up has never been easier. Two ways of charging gives you convenience and flexibility, and keeps you motoring.
