TROUBLESHOOTING & ERRORS

General Troubleshooting

My screen is showing error code E012, what does this mean?

This is due to the initialization of the torque sensor. When turning on the system, make sure your feet are not on the pedals.

Am I able to disassemble the drive unit?

No, do not disassemble the drive unit. This will remove your 2-year warranty. If you are experiencing any issues, please take your bike into your local SHIMANO STEPS dealer so they may look into any issues for you.

Is it possible to upgrade from the SC-E6000 display to the SC-E6010 display?

Yes, the bracket is the same so you just have to exchange the display. However, make sure to do a software update of the firmware after installing the new display.

How can I install the progressive light off-road firmware on a trekking bike?

This can only be changed by the bike manufacturer. Please contact SHIMANO customer service for assistance.
