Once you’ve got your e-bike, you’re going to want to get E-TUBE: all the data, functions and settings in an easy and intuitive app. Here’s a look at how to connect and customise.
To connect to the E-TUBE app you simply turn on the power on your bike, open the app and tap the flashing ‘connection’ icon in the top right corner. Next, tap ‘connect’ and then you’re set up and ready to go!
Customising your E-TUBE ride app means giving you up to five preset views, each with three, five or six items on display. You simply pinch in/out to display more or less items. Tap and hold an item to select it, then use the arrows to scroll though the nine functions or drag and drop it to your preferred position. You can choose which of your five displays to view by going to the ‘select view to display’ option in the menu.
To connect to the E-TUBE PROJECT app, firstly hold down the function button on the display - or simultaneously press the top and button buttons on the switch unit - to access the settings menu. Choose the ‘Bluetooth LE’ item and then select ‘start' to begin Bluetooth pairing. Open the E-TUBE PROJECT app on your phone and select ‘Bluetooth LE connection’, then select the bike and enter the pairing code. The SHIMANO STEPS logo will appear when the connection is successful.
With the E-TUBE PROJECT app connected, click ‘customise’ and select ‘drive unit’. Set the ‘riding characteristic’ to ‘customise’ to change the settings per support mode. You can set the ‘boost’, ‘trail’ or ‘eco’ modes to low, medium or high. Tap the tick to save changes and then disconnect from ‘Bluetooth LE’ in the menu.
E-TUBE puts the power in the palm of your hand!
